Meet Christina Davis, Sock Club’s talented Visual Content Specialist, who brings creativity and passion to every project. With a keen eye for detail and a flair for elevating photography, videography, and graphics, Christina plays a key role in showcasing our custom sock designs in the best light.
Her creativity and strong visual storytelling helps bring Sock Club’s unique, USA-made products to life. Get to know Christina and learn more about her creative journey and inspirations!
What is your favorite thing about working at Sock Club?
Christina: I love the transparency and trust here. From day one, I've felt inspired and encouraged to run a project without micromanagement, but while still having someone available for guidance if I need it. I can ask questions and share ideas without fear of judgment. The transparency about how the company functions and how it's doing from day to day is really amazing; this all helps me feel more a part of the team. Also, the snacks are great :-)
What's it like working in your role at Sock Club for someone who wouldn't know at all?
Christina: I think a big distinction is that I am a designer, but I'm not on the sock design team. Those champs beautifully design an insane amount of socks every day, while I design things that are more related to Sock Club as a business and a brand. I've got my hand in photography, video, social media, and all kinds of deliverables that clients see.
Who or what inspires you?
Christina: I am inspired by everything! Things like seeing what other creatives make, going to galleries and art museums, and staying current on what's going on in the design and art world. But I also find inspiration in the shadows through trees on my walk, the colors of a mountain vista, the off-the-cuff things my friends say. I like to always stay open to things that may conjure ideas.
What’s the last book you read? Why/what did you learn?
Christina: If I'm disregarding the fantasy and sci-fi and rom-com books I've been reading and want to sound smart and cool instead, I've been reading a book called All the Living and the Dead, where the author interviews morticians, embalmers, executioners, cryogenic guards and medical examiners to make death more transparent. Death is obvi like, super scary, and as I get older I'm trying to find ways to think differently about it.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Christina: Either Weezer or Harry and the Potters.
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Christina: Japan
When people talk about the impact you make at Sock Club, what do you want them to say?
Christina: I want them to be blown away by the visual aspect of the brand and all the deliverables, photo and video that supports that.
What initiative on another team are you most interested in learning about currently?
Christina: I want to know ALL about how to design socks! I'm especially curious about how the design team is utilizing their new production assistants.
