What is your background prior to Sock Club?
Domonic: I've been in sales pretty much all my life and have spent the last 10+ years in the print industry working for a company called BuildASign.com. There I led a sales team which focused on real estate, franchising, enterprise and SMB clients.
What is your favorite thing about working at Sock Club?
Domonic: My favorite thing about Sock Club is how it empowers ownership and autonomy for each individual regardless of their role. Everyone at Sock Club truly cares about the success of the company and they are all passionate about their individual contributions to the goals of the whole.
What's it like working in your role at Sock Club for someone who wouldn't know at all?
Domonic: As the Director of Strategic Accounts I get to work with a phenomenal sales team and amazing customers! My primary role is to analyze data in order to think and act proactively which ultimately drives positive change and growth for the company. Sock Club is already a leader in our space, and our goal is to continue to disrupt the industry through technology, innovation and providing incomparable customer service.
Who or what inspires you?
Domonic: My inspiration comes from YOU. I try to live as selflessly as possible, and my one true goal and "why" is to help inspire others to become the best versions of themselves. My real hope is that I make some type of lasting and positive impact on the lives of others because witnessing them succeed is the inspiration for mine.
What’s the last book you read? Why/what did you learn?
Domonic: I just read Predictive Revenue by Aaron Ross & Marylou Tyler. Stepping into a new role and industry warranted a refresher on the best practices of sales in general. From lead generation to prospecting to leadership and management, I learned how to cultivate talent and avoid making common sales leadership mistakes.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Domonic: Oh boy, I'm really showing my age here, but my first concert was my man MJ (Michael Jackson). I was 8 and it was during his first solo tour for the Bad album.
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Domonic: Spain
What is something people might not know about you?
Domonic: I started my first business in the 5th grade selling Blow Pops. I was nearly suspended from school because I stole all the candy business from the school store by undercutting their pricing (which was outrageously high and the root cause for starting the business in the first place).
When people talk about the impact you make at Sock Club, what do you want them to say?
Domonic: That I act on analysis and make data driven decisions to better leverage our company's position within our industry. I also want to make our Sales department the most desirable and sought after department to work in at Sock Club.
What initiative on another team are you most interested in learning about currently?
Domonic: I'm really really interested in learning how sales can better work with/partner with marketing through the new lifecycle stages. I'm also interested in learning more about the initiatives our development team is focusing on. Technology is a game changer, so I'm super excited to see how sales and dev can collaborate.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know Domonic and sharing in our excitement for the future of Sock Club! Stay tuned for more employee spotlights as we celebrate the diverse talents and contributions that make our team exceptional.
