An employee recognition series dedicated to learning a little bit more about the people that make Sock Club great.
Meet Holly Richardson, our talented Brand Manager and a key member of Sock Club’s marketing team! Since joining us, Holly’s creativity and innovative ideas have been instrumental in shaping our brand’s direction.
From fresh brand strategies to unique campaign concepts, her passion for bringing bold ideas to life has already made a significant impact. We’re excited to spotlight Holly and give you a glimpse into her dynamic role at Sock Club!
What's it like working in your role at Sock Club for someone who wouldn't know at all?
Holly: Sometimes it’s like being in a deep creative tunnel consumed in just one project and other times it’s like performing in a circus, juggling many different balls in the air. It takes a lot of collaboration and planning and I love getting to be creative independently and also appreciate the opportunity to work with so many people.
With the brand messaging work I’m doing right now, I get to interact with all departments to better understand how marketing can support them, so that’s been really fun.
Who or what inspires you?
Holly: A lot of people and places! I’m inspired by people who are goal-oriented and who are unapologetically themselves. I’m inspired by creatives (photographers, artists, etc.). I always enjoy learning about people’s unique stories and what makes them who they are today.
I love watching athletes accomplish crazy stretch goals, especially when they’re so grateful and humble. The trail runner Courtney Dauwalter, immediately comes to mind and she continues to break trail running records multiple times per year.
Nature is also a big one for me. When I need to unwind or process, I seek out the trails or mountains to wander and be in awe of the plants and the birds without any distractions.
What’s the last book you read? Why/what did you learn?
Holly: I’m finishing The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt right now. I’m fascinated by mental health and the human mind and also devastated to learn how much social media has made a negative impact on anyone born after 1996.
It’s a good reminder to continue to set boundaries with technology and prioritize “do not disturb” time for ourselves and be away from technology to allow the brain to process. Yes we’re surrounded by technology all the time, but I think the more we can be intentional with it, the better off our minds will be.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Holly: Gavin Degraw
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Holly: Bali
When people talk about the impact you make at Sock Club, what do you want them to say?
Holly: I want them to say that my creativity and ideas have helped put the Sock Club brand into the spotlight.
What initiative on another team are you most interested in learning about currently?
Holly: I’m interested in learning more about the v2 portal that our dev/product team is developing in order to better serve both our customers and internal systems.
We’re incredibly lucky to have Holly on our team, and her contributions are a big part of what makes Sock Club such a creative and dynamic place to work. If her story has inspired you and you're passionate about joining a team that values innovation and collaboration, we encourage you to explore our open roles. There’s always room for more talent at Sock Club, and we’d love to see how your unique skills could help shape our future!
